Fueling gamers with a groundbreaking gaming innovation
Mountain Dew needed to boost sell-in and sell-through at it's key customer, Papa John's. Identifying Gamers as a key growth driver for both brands (duh), we set out to create a next-level promotion authentically rooted in gaming culture that spoke to their unique behaviors and media consumption habits.
The promo centered around a breakthrough piece of gaming technology: the Quick Order Controller. A functional PS4 controller with a built-in, quick-order button, this gaming innovation allowed hungry gamers to instantly place a delivery order for a Papa John's Gamer's Bundle—2 Papadias and 2 MTN DEWs—without having to hit pause.
To promote the Gamer's Bundle and the Quick Order Controller, we partnered with one of gaming's biggest streamers, DrDisRespect, and NBA All-Star Jamal Murray of the Denver Nuggets. Both famous Fortnite players, the two celebs faced off in a livestream Fortnite battle featuring the Quick Order Controller and Gamer's Bundle. During the livestream, viewers had a chance to win their very own Quick Order Controller.
